Names Carry Identity and Essence

In Scripture, names were never chosen randomly. God changed Abram’s name to Abraham, Jacob to Israel, and Saul to Paul—each time, the name revealed a new identity, purpose, and assignment. A name isn’t just for identification but for impartation. It reveals what you represent in the spirit.

Genesis 17:5 – “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.”

When your name changes spiritually, your function and atmosphere change. This is why we must know who we are and whose name we carry.

The Name of Jesus: Our Access to Power

The Name Above Every Name

When Jesus was raised from the dead, God gave Him a name above every other name.

Philippians 2:9-10 – “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name…”

The name of Jesus is not just a title—it embodies His power, His resurrection, and His eternal victory. It’s a master key that unlocks all things.

A Name You’re Born Into

We weren’t just given the name of Jesus to use like a password—we were born into that name! When you were born again, you inherited the identity of Christ. You are now in His class. His name is your name. His authority is now yours.

1 John 4:17 – “As He is, so are we in this world.”

You’re not trying to use the name as a tool—you’re functioning in the name because you live in it.

Functioning with the Name of Jesus

Using the Name in Prayer

The name of Jesus gives you the legal right to enforce Heaven’s will on earth. When you pray in His name, it’s not a religious closing—it is a declaration of authority and assurance that your request is granted.

John 16:23-24 – “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you…”

Praying in the name of Jesus is one of the highest privileges of the believer.

Exercising Authority Over Demons and Situations

When you command devils to go in the name of Jesus, they must obey. Sickness, depression, lack—they all bow to that name. It’s not about how loud you shout but the consciousness of your authority in His name.

Mark 16:17 – “In my name shall they cast out devils…”

You are authorized to stop satanic activities in your home, in your finances, and in your body—just by declaring that mighty name.

You Are Named in Christ

You’re Not Just “You” Anymore

When you got born again, God didn’t just forgive your sins—He gave you a new name in Christ. You became a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). You were named in Christ and brought into divine sonship.

Ephesians 3:15 – “Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named…”

This means the very identity of divinity is now associated with you. You now have the same classification with Jesus, because you function under the same name. Glory!

You’re Wearing a Name That Heaven Honors

Heaven responds to names. When you declare your healing, your victory, your prosperity in the name of Jesus, all of Heaven’s power backs your words. You don’t need to beg God for what He has already empowered you to command through the name of Jesus.

Names Are Portals in the Spirit

The Name Grants Access

The name of Jesus is your legal spiritual access pass to everything divine. It opens dimensions, shifts atmospheres, and demands compliance in the spirit realm. When you say “in Jesus’ name,” you are not just ending a prayer—you are activating supernatural transactions.

Colossians 3:17 – “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus…”

When you cook, work, or walk into a room in that name, you carry divine influence and attraction. The name causes favor to locate you. Angels move when that name is spoken.

A Name Can Authorize or Disqualify

There are names that open doors—and there are names that shut them. That’s why the enemy fights identity. Your revelation of your name in Christ determines the manifestation of your inheritance. You must own your divine name boldly.

The Revelation of the Name of Jesus

It’s More Than a Prayer Tagline

Most people use “in Jesus’ name” like a punctuation mark. But it’s not a tradition—it’s a transaction. That name represents all that Jesus is, all that He did, and all that He owns.

John 14:13 – “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do…”

When you speak in His name, Jesus Himself shows up. His name and His presence are the same. When you declare “in Jesus’ name,” demons see Him, not you.

It’s a Weapon in Your Mouth

The name of Jesus in the mouth of a believer is like God speaking from Heaven. When you rebuke disease, speak to your finances, or command doors to open in that name, you are not hoping—it’s a faith decree backed by the throne of God.

The Revelation of Your Own Name

Heaven Knows Your Name

Just as Jesus is known, your name should carry weight in the realm of the spirit.

Acts 19:15 – “Jesus I know, and Paul I know…”

When you live consciously in your divine identity, your name becomes a terror to hell. You’re not just called Charis, John, Mary, or David—you’re Ambassador Charis, Heir of God, Kingdom Enforcer, Light of the World!

Speak Your Destiny Into Your Name

Do what God did to Abraham—speak purpose and prophecy into your name. Start declaring:

• “I am favored!”

• “I am the righteousness of God!”

• “I am unstoppable!”

• “My name opens doors!”

• “My name is a fragrance of Christ!”

Ministering in the Power of the Name

Release Healing and Miracles

You don’t need to wait for a healing service. The anointing is in the name. Lay hands on the sick and declare healing in Jesus’ name. The results aren’t dependent on your emotions or feelings—they respond to the authority of that name.

Mark 16:17-18 – …they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Change Atmospheres Wherever You Go

You are an atmosphere carrier. The name you carry changes places. Your presence becomes a gate of miracles, peace, and divine order. Start walking into rooms with this mindset:

“I’m here in the name of Jesus. Every disorder leaves. I bring peace, favor, solutions.”

Beloved, don’t just know about the power of a name—live it. Speak, act, and pray with full confidence that you bear a name that cannot be defeated. That name is Jesus. And now, you have His name. You are His extension on earth.

Your whole life can shift when you stop identifying by your circumstances and start identifying by your name in Christ. So rise up and walk boldly. Live victoriously. Speak authoritatively. The name works!
