The Rapture of the Church and the Second Coming of Our Lord: A Divine Urgency

“Behold, I come quickly; hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”Revelation 3:11 (KJV)

We are living in the most prophetic and sensitive time in human history. The clock of heaven is ticking toward a divine moment—the rapture of the Church and the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. These are not fairy tales or religious hallucinations; they are imminent realities, anchored in scripture and heralded by the Spirit of God through His prophets and teachers. In these final hours of the Church Age, we must respond with urgency. This is a divine call to awaken, to align, and to advance the cause of Christ with all readiness.

This message is more than an article. It’s a prophetic trumpet blast, stirring your spirit to divine awareness and awakening. It’s not for entertainment—it’s a spiritual encounter. The rapture is the Blessed Hope of the Church and the final convergence of our union with Christ. It is a mystery revealed to the saints and a reality that will soon unfold before the eyes of the world.

Let your heart be open as we journey through the scriptures and unfold eternal truths that will shift your perspective, ignite your passion, and prepare you for the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Why Did Jesus Come?

Before we can understand the rapture or the second coming, we must begin at the foundation: the reason Jesus came to this world. Many have misunderstood Him, thinking He came to establish a religion or to be a moral teacher. No—Jesus came to save humanity.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16 (KJV)

This love is not ordinary. It is the agape love of God—pure, sacrificial, eternal. God looked upon a dying world, lost in sin and under the dominion of darkness, and He sent His Son, Jesus, as the expression of His love.

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8 (KJV)

Jesus became our substitute. He took upon Himself our sin, our judgment, and our death. He was crucified, buried, and on the third day, He rose again—victorious over death, hell, and the grave. His resurrection is our justification, our triumph, and the assurance that eternal life is real.

Now, He lives in those who believe, in the person of the Holy Spirit. This indwelling presence is the seal of our salvation and the guarantee of our inheritance.

What Is the Rapture?

The rapture is the sudden, supernatural catching away of the Church—the Body of Christ—from the earth. It is not symbolic. It is not an allegory. It is a literal event that will occur in a moment, and it will change everything.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 (KJV)

The Greek word for “caught up” is harpazo, which means to snatch away suddenly, to seize with force. It describes the swiftness and power with which Jesus will gather His Church.

This event will happen “in the twinkling of an eye.”

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump…” – 1 Corinthians 15:51–52 (KJV)

The world will be left in shock. Millions will vanish. Graves will be emptied. The Holy Spirit, who operates through the Church, will be lifted, and lawlessness will escalate. This is why the rapture matters. This is why we must be ready.

What Happens at the Rapture?

  1. The Lord Descends – Jesus descends with a shout, the voice of the archangel, and the trumpet of God.

  2. The Dead in Christ Rise First – Those who died believing in Jesus will be resurrected with glorified bodies.

  3. The Living Are Changed – Living believers will be instantly transformed, receiving incorruptible bodies.

  4. Meeting in the Air – Together, the dead and living saints will rise to meet the Lord in the air.

  5. The Bema Seat of Christ – Believers will appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ—not for condemnation, but for rewards.

“…we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body…” – 2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV)

The Difference Between the Rapture and the Second Coming

These two events are often confused, but scripture clearly separates them:

Rapture Second Coming
Christ comes for His saints Christ comes with His saints
Happens in the air Happens on earth
For the Church For the world and Israel
Before the Tribulation After the Tribulation
Sudden and secret Open and visible to all

In the rapture, He comes as the Bridegroom. In the Second Coming, He returns as the righteous Judge and conquering King.

Why the Rapture Matters

Pastor Chris Oyahkilome,  has often declared, “We are in the closing moments of the last days.” The signs are all around us: wars, pestilences, earthquakes, immorality, deception, technological dominance, and spiritual apathy.

“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” – Matthew 24:44 (KJV)

The urgency is real. There will be no time to prepare when the trumpet sounds. The time to prepare is now. The rapture is not just an escape—it’s the glorious gathering of the saints to our Bridegroom. It’s our elevation, our celebration, and our eternal promotion.

God’s Love and Desire for All to Be Saved

Our God is a God of mercy. His heart is salvation.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise… but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)

Jesus died for all. There is no one too far gone. His arms are open, His blood is speaking, and His Spirit is drawing men.

You reading this is not by accident. You were chosen to hear this truth, to respond, and to become a messenger of salvation in your world.

A Call to Salvation

If you haven’t yet received Jesus, this is your moment. This is your hour.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – Romans 10:13 (KJV)

Pray this with all your heart:

O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. Thank You, Lord, for saving my soul! I’m now born again. Hallelujah!

If you just prayed this prayer, welcome to God’s family. You are now a child of God. Begin reading your Bible, join a Spirit-filled church, and let the Holy Spirit guide your journey of faith.
