This Is Your Season to Arise and Shine

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” — Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)

Introduction: God Is Calling You Forward

There comes a moment in every life when God releases a divine prompting—a sacred call to move forward, leave behind fear and stagnation, and walk into divine purpose. That moment is now. Not tomorrow, not when conditions feel ideal, but right here and now. This is your season to arise and shine.

To arise means to get up from a place of limitation or delay. To shine means to become visible, to radiate the glory that God has placed within you, and to walk in full alignment with who you were created to be.

You’ve cried, you’ve prayed, you’ve waited—now God is saying: “Stand up. Move forward. Step out. The world needs the light I placed in you.”

1. The Command to Arise: It’s Not a Suggestion

The word “arise” in Isaiah 60 is not a gentle encouragement. It is a command from God—a call to action. When God says arise, He is saying:

  • Get up from where you’ve been stuck.

  • Shake off the dust of delay, fear, or rejection.

  • Embrace the new season I’ve prepared for you.

“Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them…” — Joshua 1:2 (NKJV)

Just like Joshua after the death of Moses, some of us are standing on the edge of a promise, waiting for someone to give us permission. But God has already given the instruction: Arise.

2. Shine with Purpose: Your Light Has a Mission

What does it mean to shine? It’s more than being noticed. It’s about revealing the glory of God through your life—whether you’re teaching, parenting, creating, serving, or building.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)

To shine means:

  • Walking boldly in purpose.

  • Being unapologetically obedient to God’s direction.

  • Living with authenticity and boldness.

  • Influencing the world for Christ, starting with your home.

Shining is not self-promotion. It’s God-promotion through your daily living.

3. God’s Glory Is Rising Upon You

Isaiah 60:1 continues:

“…for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”

The glory of God is His weight, His presence, His favor, His divine enablement. When God’s glory rises upon you, it’s not about you being qualified—it’s about Him being magnified through you.

This season is not powered by your strength—it’s powered by grace.

“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts. — Zechariah 4:6 (NKJV)

4. Let Go of the Past to Step into the Light

To arise, you must let go of:

  • Guilt from your past.

  • The opinions of people.

  • Disappointments and delays.

  • The fear of failure.

The past is over. The mistakes, the closed doors, and the missed opportunities do not define your next season. God is doing something new.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing…” — Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)

5. You Don’t Need to Feel Ready—You Just Need to Obey

Many people never shine because they’re waiting to feel ready. But readiness is not a feeling—it’s a response. When God says go, the only right answer is yes, Lord.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” — Psalm 37:23 (NKJV)

Obedience is the spark that ignites your season.

6. Testimonies of Rising and Shining

Charity: The Teacher Who Started with One Child

Charity, a young woman in Uganda, had a dream to impact children through godly education. With no building, no staff, and no money, she began teaching one child under a mango tree. Today, that one act of obedience has become a flourishing Christian school with over 300 students.

She didn’t wait for resources—she responded to God’s call to arise.

Michael: The Man Who Refused to Stay Silent

Michael felt stirred to start a prayer group in his workplace, but he feared criticism. After weeks of wrestling, he finally said yes. The group started with just two colleagues. But over time, many joined, and testimonies of healing, salvation, and unity began to emerge.

He didn’t need a microphone. He just needed to say yes.

7. Your Light Will Impact Generations

This season is not just about you. It’s about the generations your light will touch. Your obedience today could impact your children, your community, and even strangers you may never meet.

“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children…” — Proverbs 13:22 (NKJV)

Every time you say “yes” to God, you’re passing down courage to the next generation.

8. Practical Ways to Arise and Shine Today

  • Start Where You Are: Don’t wait for big opportunities. Use what’s in your hand.

  • Speak Life: Let your words build, not break. Encourage someone today.

  • Show Up Consistently: Whether you’re a mum, a student, a writer, or a business owner—stay faithful.

  • Stay in the Word: God’s Word fuels your light.

  • Pray Boldly: Prayer is the power behind the shining.

9. Don’t Dim Your Light for Anyone

There will be those who don’t understand your rising. Some may criticize, others may distance themselves. Shine anyway.

“No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.” — Matthew 5:15 (NIV)

Your rising is not arrogance—it’s alignment with God’s plan.

Victory Declaration

I arise in the authority of Christ.
I shine with the brilliance of God’s glory.
I will not be hidden.
I will not be silenced.
Every gift in me will come alive.
I am not afraid to stand out.
I am not afraid to obey.
This is my season. This is my time.
I arise and I shine for the glory of the Lord is upon me!

A Prayer for This Season

Father, in the name of Jesus,
I thank You for this divine moment. Thank You for calling me out of obscurity and into purpose. I surrender every fear and every excuse. Let Your Spirit empower me to arise with boldness and shine with Your glory. May my life reflect You. May my words point others to You. I receive grace for this season. I will not miss what You are doing in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Conclusion: Shine On, You Are Needed

Dear reader, God is not waiting for you to be perfect—He’s waiting for your obedience. This is not the time to shrink back. This is the time to stand tall, rise up, and radiate the glory within you.

The world needs your light.
Your family needs your light.
You need your light.

This is your season. Arise and Shine.
